Sere in the Snow

I’m starting to see a lot of photos of dogs in the snow now. We have plenty of those here ourselves. None so far from this year though. It has not snowed yet, even though it’s been cold enough on a couple of occasions.

One of our favorite photos is this one of Sere. Beautiful Sere – Winston’s Moonlight Serenade.

For Holiday Travelers – Portable Pet Home

Great idea! The same technology that’s been in use for years making tents and those sun blockers for your car’s windshield has now been brought to your dog’s crate.

I saw one of these recently at a fund raiser event. Dog owners no longer needed to load up an SUV with a big plastic or metal kennel. Instead the kennel collapses into a small and light package that can be slipped into the car behind the seat or dropped into the trunk. I’m not keen on doubing up on our already significant kennel investment, but going on the road with the pups over the upcoming holidays would sure be easier without those big boxes taking up so much space.

The latest in “Gotta have” gadgets for your dog

Ah yeah! Another gizmo to hang on your dog’s collar. This one – I think – telephones a phone number of your choosing. Assuming you input your own phone number, when someone finds your dog all they have to do is plug this little gizmo into their cell phone and your dog “phones home”.

Uh, you do have a phone with this interface, don’t you? No, wait, the person who finds your dog has to have a phone with this interface. Then they will need to figure out how to use it. Maybe there are instructions on the back. Hopefully they’re better than the description on the company’s web site:

The telephone enters from the pet of the lost child! Attaching, don’t you think?

You just insert in the portable telephone it is connected to the telephone number which has been registered, the very it is lovely IT lost child bill with foppery. As for pet of course thing, as for method of using variety! ! Inserting the telephone number of the home in the key, the bag and the portable telephone, etc. when the key holder attaches comparatively, when losing, passes in part.

Dueling Waterless Pet Bath Brushes

Bringing you only the best of the best products available for your pet. Well maybe not today…

Continuing yesterday’s theme of products we can all live without, today we have a couple of competing products in the Waterless Pet Bath Brush category.

Imagine, more than one product in this cateory… Who knew?

The first product shown is the Lentek Ionic Waterless Pet Bath and Flea Repeller Brush, Model IO50. This bad boy will silently ‘baths’ your pet with “up to 100 trillion negative ions” to remove odors and reduce dander. It emits Ultrasonic waves which help repel fleas. (We all know how fleas can’t stand ultrasonic waves). Aside from it’s amazing ability to perform these miracles it has an LED that will flash green to let you know it’s on, and red when battery is low; and it has an automatic shutofff after 5 minutes which helps you save on batteries. Speaking of batteries, it requires a single 9-volt battery (not included).

The second product pictured is the Sila™ Waterless Bath Pet Brush. This baby uses Zyonic™ Technology to gently and silently bathe your pet with “up to 100 trillion super oxygenated molecules every second. Zyonic™ Technology breaks down the odors and the particles that cause them leaving only fresh oxygen in its path so your pet ends up smelling fresh and looking clean.” Yowsah! She breaks down the odor causing particles and turns them into fresh oxygen, which is much better than stale oxygen.

Shouldn’t we be a little concerned about all these negative ions? Suppose they cause some kind of genetic mutation in the fleas? I would not want to be responsible for the creation of a super race of fleas which are impervious to Frontline® Flea Control. Or even to ultrasonic waves.

The EZ Digital Dog Trainer

Here’s another product from our Korean friends who always seem to know just exactly what we want for our dogs. (remember this one?) What you’re looking at here is a digital trainer.

Yes folks, the EZ Digital Dog Trainer. You record the commands – up to 8 of them – you want your dog to obey into the device. When you touch the playback button corresponding to a particular command the EZ Digital Dog Trainer plays back your recorded command. But wait, that’s not all! It plays back said command several octaves above our hearing.

It’s a remote control for your dog!

GPS GSM Dog collar

Don’t know where your dog got off to? Just call him on your cell phone.

Pretty cool idea. You dial your dog’s number into your cell phone and the GPS receiver in his collar estimates its location and responds with a short text message with the coordinates. The GSM GPS system is accurate to within 15 meters.

How’s that for clever? I know some people who would want one of these for each of their kids too.

The unique GPS PRO Dog collar tracking system is an universal and completly new technology for finding, pursuing or tracking your dog: A GPS receiver and a GSM modem with special software is incorporated into the dog collar. Allows you easily and remotely monitoring the location of your dog via your cell phone/mobile phone anywhere in the world with suitable GSM coverage.
