This week at least three different groups of students are donating their time and energies to do storm cleanup duty in the area. Fifty five college students from the Georgia Institute of Technology arrived this week; and another fifty from Bowling Green, NC.

Here’s wishing all of You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
A good friend sent me some Dauphin Island humor that we thought would be good to pass along for your enjoyment.
A sales person, an accountant, and their department manager are walking to lunch one day when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out in a puff of smoke.
The Genie says, “I will only grant three wishes. Because there are three of you, I’ll give each of you just one.”
“Me first! Me first!” says the accountant. “I want to be on Dauphin Island, enjoying the warm sunshiine and a cool breeze, reading a nice book on the beach, without a care in the world.”
“Very well! Your wish is granted.” Poof! She’s gone.
“Me next! Me next!” says the sales person astonished and delighed that this is really happening. “I want to be on Dauphin Island relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of pina coladas and the love of my life.”
“Very well! Your wish is granted.” And with a poof he disappears in a small white cloud of smoke. “OK, you’re up,” the Genie says to the department manager.
The manager doesn’t skip a beat, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”
Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.
